Cellpak ...explains
Packaging all wrapped up...
Honeycomb carton dividers are now more commonly referred to as carton division inserts or carton grid inserts, and are one of the most commonly used protective packaging fittings for volume packaged products.
The design principle is simple: maximise the carton volume, keep the products secured while eliminating the possibility of the products coming into contact with one another during transit.
Commonly used in the beverage industry, carton division inserts are very simply made up of two interlocking rows of either corrugated board or solid board forming multiple protective cells, within which fragile products are placed. When a division insert is placed within a suitably designed corrugated carton, the resulting secure and protective package provides an extremely cost effective distribution packaging format.
There are a number of minor style variations such as regular die cut division inserts and the more innovative locking style division inserts. The latter are more suitable for high volume packing operations where handling teams are working at maximum speed.
